Eli's First Trip to the Dentist

 

Eli had his first checkup at the dentist today and was very excited about it!  Freya had her routine checkup a couple of days ago and Eli wanted to go too!  I thought there was a good chance he might change his mind about it once we got there but he happily hopped up onto the seat by himself and had a full check and clean... he even got to help hold some of the instruments!

Red Water

Who doesn't love a play trough full of coloured red water?   

Always wanting to colour the water red is a really vivid memory of my own time at kindy so today was a little bit of an opportunity to relive my own childhood through my own children. 

Oc Oc's

Today we stopped off at The Shingle Inn and Eli was quick to initiate a game of 'Oc Oc's' while we waited. 

Cup of Tea

This morning Eli wanted a cup of tea.  So I dug out the de-caf tea bags I had from when Freya wanted to try a cup of tea and made him a nice milky cup.  He wasn't really a fan.

Mr Bump

Today I had my rating interview with Education Queensland and while I was gone Eli convinced daddy to take him to the park.  While there Eli running a bit too fast for his little legs took a spill straight into the concrete edge of the sandpit.  I arrived home from my interview to a empty house and was just about to have a nice peaceful coffee when a very upset Elijah arrived home.  I didn't like the look of his head so off we went to the Doctor where poor old Eli ended up with two stitches.  Not quite the way I was thinking I would celebrate the day!

Uncle Daz & Aunty Dee donated some hats for the dress ups box.  Eli is rocking this hat! (and his vegemite covered face).

Sleep

I never get sick of watching them sleep! 

Tonka Truck

The highlight of today for Eli was playing Tonka trucks with Uncle Kenny! 

 

Toilet training

I decided to start toilet training Eli yesterday.  So far this means lots of nappy free time and getting used to sitting on the potty and toilet.  Eli has decided that the potty is a car and drags it around the loungeroom.  Eli so far thinks it's a bit of fun to sit on the toilet and his sister is keen to give him lots of tips... he is most interested in having a go at using the toilet paper although so far has produced no reason to actually be using it!

Peekaboo

A new favourite spot that Eli has found to play peekaboo from! 

My little boy turns 2

My beautiful boy turned two today and we had a sausage sizzle and cake with family and friends to celebrate.  Eli LOVES cars.  He likes to talk about them 'car, car keys!'  He likes to play with them and he loves to be in them.  So it was only natural that his cake should of course be a car.   His party favours were a small collection of his favourite things... a matchbox car, a freddo frog and a lollypop.  He also loves popcorn and often drags the popcorn maker out himself and pushes it at whomever he thinks might make it for him so his party favour bags were little paper popcorn bags.

At the end of the day Freya remembered that she had wanted to give Eli a special gift.  When she turned two her Nana had given her a number 2 fridge magnet.  Freya doesn't often part with items easily but she resolutely informed me that since she was no longer two and Eli was that she should give it to him.  So she wrapped it up and made my heart swell as she tried to hand it over to her little brother... her little brother who was by that stage very overtired and didn't want a bar of it!  But with a little time he opened it.  I felt so relieved that he eventually provided Freya with with a happy smile for her little gift before he promptly popped it in his new toy pot and cooked it!
