Goodbye Grubclub
Our week of 'last days' continued today when we went to our last day at Grub Club. It was always going to be Freya's last day as she goes to prep next year but is also Eli's last day now that we are moving to St George. In keeping with tradition Freya and Eli each got a book from Santa today and both were very excited about them.

Last Day of Kindy
Well the day finally had to come... Freya's last day at kindy and in many ways Eli's too as he has loved the time he has spent there at drop off and pick up times too. When they arrived each of the children decorated a 'placemat' for their special lunch. Freya has been so excited about having a treat lunch at kindy. It is such a sad day but I am so exceptionally happy that Freya got to spend a year here at this magical kindy with such beautiful teachers.

City
Ever since we last went into the city Eli has been desperate to go back with Daddy to see the big clock! So today we took him back in and looked at all of the clocks we could find. A train ride, the city, clocks and Hungry Jacks and Eli is in his element.
As we were heading back to catch the train home we came across a couple with a dog who indicated that the children could come and pat it if they liked. Eli was straight over but Freya who has been desperate to convince me that she should have a dog won't go anywhere near it!

I love that Freya and Eli will often hold hands now!

Christmas begins...
Today we did the usual business of dragging out the advent calendar and Christmas tree. It is the first year that Eli will have an advent calander. We thought he would be so excited but he had just woken up from a nap when we showed it to him and for some reason it became the prompt for a big cry... he didn't want it! He was a little more interested in helping to decorate the tree but quickly lost interest so the decorating was largely left to Freya. She was more than happy to oblige!

Nearly Summer
It certainly felt like Summer had arrived today and so we had a bit of a lazy home day. Freya and Eli did some painting in the morning then we filled the little pool and they just popped into it from time to time to cool down again.

Premiere
Today was a big day at kindy. I spent the day with Freya and filmed footage so that I could create a little video keepsake of the children at kindy. It was so nice to be able to spend a day there with her. Later in the day we were joined by Daddy, Eli, Pop, Aunty Priya and Abby for the premiere of the video production of 'Hugless Douglas' which the children had modified and acted out. The premiere also included a short video of the kindy Ekka Day which included a special thankyou to Freya for her idea at the start!

Monopoly
Kev has started to teach Freya how to play Monopoly. Eli I course wants to play so is given dice rolling duties! Sometimes, he is not such a help.

Exhibiting Artist
Today we attended an inaugural art show at Freya's kindy featuring the art of each child attending the kindergarten. The children each had special roles for the day and Freya and her friend Indianna were in charge of collecting the door money. Freya had painted a beautiful painting which she titled "Butterfly and Rainbow on a Sunny Day" and was presented with a certificate to congratualate her on her first art exhibition. She also got to wear an 'exhibiting artist' pass which she is very excited about keeping in her 'special box'.

Myer Christmas Visit
We headed into the city for our annual trip to see the Myer Christmas windows and to have a ride on the Santa train. Eli has long had a fascination with clocks and has a new interest in 'the city' because pictures of the city all seem to have big clocks in them so he was very excited about it all. Freya couldn't wait to see Santa.
We got in and went to see the big clock in King George Square which Eli was extremely impressed with. He also enjoyed the windows but by the time we got to the Myer Santaland he was plainly tired. He did not want to go on the Santa train. He did not want to visit Santa! In fact he did not even want to be within the general vicinity of Santa. So Eli and I stood outside the room while Freya talked Santa's ear off. Eventually I was able to creep into the room with Elijah and he was even happy to give Santa a high-five but it was obvious that he was not going to sit with him for a photo so Santa asked me if I wanted to just take a photo of Freya with him. So I put Eli down on the ground and oh my goodness... instant heartwrenching ugly cry from Eli! It was clearly time to leave.
All was quickly perfect again in Eli's world again though when we left Santaland and ran straight into the wall display of CLOCKS!
