There's a bear in there...

We went to the much anticipated Playschool concert today with Toby & Mel.   Eli was into it from the moment the concert started, bouncing and clapping wildly.  He was so excited when they performed 'Jingle Jangle Scarecrow' and 'If You're Happy And You Know It' - his two favourite songs!  Freya and Toby did a fantastic job of 'I'm a Little Teapot'.  At the end of the concert who could go past some colourful balloons.

Catch up!

3.6.12 - Today Daddy helped out at a fundraising sausage sizzle at Bunnings for the kindy.  Because we love a sausage sizzle we headed down to say hello and while we were there Freya did a workshop.  Today's workshop was on building a worm farm!  So now we are the proud owners of pet worms and Freya is taking worm ownership very seriously so far.

I also gave Freya my childhood doll Red today.

28.5.12 - This week at Kindy Freya got to be the 'Star of the Week'.  It all started with presenting a poster about herself to the class.  Then she got to perform all of the special jobs like ringing the bell and putting out the lunch boxes for the rest of the week.  Let's just say that Freya was in her absolute element!

27.5.12 - Eli has recently decided that big kids walk down the stairs.

25.5.12 - Uncle Kenny came home today!  It's been quite a while since we last saw him.  Eli was swiftly won over with a freddo frog and later on Freya discovered the value of having your Uncle around to help with kindy projects.

23.5.12 - Well we did end up taking Nana to the Shingle Inn.  We went with Aunty Priya and cousin Abby to celebrate Nana's birthday.  Freya was particularly impressed to find out the woman serving us was also named Freya.  Eli is becoming quite the little fan of sitting up in a chair by himself enjoying a babycino.

Daddy comes to kindy!

Today Daddy came to kindy with me for the day and Mr Puppet came too.  I loved playing with Daddy today.  It was such a fun day with Daddy.  We listened to 'Wonky Donky' and Mr Puppet looked very silly with the earphones on!  I enjoyed Daddy here at kindy.  I played with lots of stuff. I did a painting, I played with the train track and it was a very fun day today.  I got an egg with a bird in it and I wrote a treasure map to Santa Claus.  By Freya.

Babycino

We went for a playdate with some very good friends today.  I ordered Eli a babycino but what he got was much more like a small hot chocolate.  He certainly wasn't complaining but oh my goodness I was left wishing that he wasn't dressed in white!

Sweet Dreams

I used to always put you to sleep.  These days your daddy reads your bedtime stories and sits with you while you go to sleep and I feed Eli to sleep.  But tonight I sat with you while you went to sleep and oh how I love to just watch you while you drift into slumber.  Curled up snugly with one of your stuffed animals.  It was Darcy's turn tonight.  Goodnight my beautiful girl.

Playgroup

We've been going to playgroup since Freya was just over a year old.  Over the years it's been a sanity saver for me ... a easy and inexpensive way to get out of the house on a regular basis and talk to other mums and dads.  This year we've only made it very sporadically.  Now that Freya is at kindy we don't have quite so much spare time to 'fill' and I've been busy with university work and teaching prac.  But it was nice to get there today and it occurs to me that this time in our life is probably drawing to a close.  Next year Freya will be at Prep and we really have no idea where we'll be living then.   So I guess we'll make the most of it for as long as it lasts.

Eating has always been a feature of our time at playgroup.  For Freya it used to be the excitement of packing a little lunchbox.  For Eli it is the opportunity to swipe something off of the tables ... it's always better if it belongs to someone else!  Music time has also been greatly enjoyed by both of you.  The raucous banging of instruments whilst singing favourite songs.  As I watched you both bop to the infamous 'sleeping bunnies' today it occured to me that this is something that I really should film while I still have the chance.  Next time!
